The winner of the 2009 Book Cover of the Year Award at the Australian Publishers' Association Book Design Awards in Sydney, Anna Maley-Fadgyas has been the UWA Publishing designer for the past two years.
She graduated from Curtin University design school in 1999 and has worked in various studios over the past 10 years and in a range of graphic design media, including packaging, magazines and more. Her name appears on a number of Australian Graphic Design Association awards. Anna loves design, books, cycling as a mode of transport and daily Ashtanga yoga practice.
Her winning entry Wild Bees: New and Selected Poems, by Martin Harrison, sported the simple design of a copper-foiled 'bee' flying across a striking black background.
