The UWA Cultural Precinct welcomes applications from students to join the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery team as part of a structured learning placement in the area of digital content production.

Applications open all year round.

The Digital Experience placement involves producing digital content in a variety of publishing formats contextual to the current events and programs on offer.

The student will gain knowledge of digital media production, communications planning, and critical awareness of current industry standard practices in the discipline.

The position will suit a student in the field of communications, digital media or arts management.

Skills required

  • Computing literacy and knowledge of creative software applications
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Problem-solving ability

Duties involve

  • Support aspects of recording audio, shooting video clips and photos
  • Editing of audio, video or photo media
  • Assisting in cataloguing and archiving of digital assets
  • Brainstorming in production project ideas
  • Conversion of content into appropriate digital formats for publishing onto a variety of online media platforms

Learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate critical understanding of various technologies, techniques and equipment used in digital production
  • Demonstrate understanding and analysis of digital media planning
  • Utilise critical awareness of the various channels, media and formats
  • Display creative competency in using audio, video and image editing applications


Recommended - 100 hours.
Minimum - 40 hours.
