Night Photography Secrets
Presented by Edward de Courcy Clarke Earth Science Museum
Join photographer Sean Standen for another lesson in creative night time photography. Participants will be shown a variety of night photography secrets that can be used to take brilliant photos. This year Sean will be showing you several new tricks and techniques using different backdrops around the picturesque UWA campus. This workshop is ideal for anyone who attended last year’s session, as well as newcomers! Participants will need to provide their own camera and if possible, a tripod.

Felt Vessels
Presented by UWA Cultural Precinct
Join textile artist Pauline Franklyn and experience the wonder of creating your own three-dimensional seamless vessel. During this workshop you will learn to lay wool fleece, explore colour, surface design and form to make a unique fully felted vessel to take home. All materials and equipment are provided.
Pauline is a highly skilled artist, working intuitively and experimenting with textiles to create gorgeous artefacts through techniques such as collage, nuno and resist. She has run textile workshops since 2005 and her work is available in the LWAG Shop.

Basket Weaving
Presented by the UWA Cultural Precinct
Join contemporary Aboriginal artist Sharyn Egan to explore the multicultural art of basket weaving in a workshop for adult beginners. Learn simple techniques to make a sculptural yet practical woven work using raffia and other natural fibres. You will learn coiling and other techniques to shape your own unique vessel.
Weaving is a relaxing, reflective practice, and this workshop will suit beginners as well as those with some experience.

Felt Babushka Workshop

Babushka dolls are gorgeous and a lot of fun to make. Learn resist wet felting and take home a new little friend.
